Koch Brothers Group Caught Blatantly Lying To Voters About Voter Registration In West Virginia

"AFP is notorious for distributing this type of misinformation. During the Scott Walker recall election, the Koch backed organization sent mailings to democrats with bogus instructions for filling out absentee ballots.
While AFP remains a tax exempt organization, and one which is supposed to be barred from direct lobbying in support of candidates or issues, they spend billions of dollars across the country, doing exactly that. They’ve come under fire consistently for publishing misleading and dishonest ads and engaging in all kinds of illegal lobbying activities. In 2011, the organization even posted fake eviction notices on the homes of Detroit residents.
It’s important to get the message about the dishonest tactics used by AFP out to those who may not be aware. Literature mailed to voters, such as the leaflets sent to West Virginia residents, can have a negative effect on voter turnout. Let people know that republicans are up to their usual dirty tricks, trying to suppress the vote by keeping democrats home. The only trustworthy source for election and voting information is your state office or your county election commission."
