"9. Hate.
The fruit of the spirit is supposed to be love. No group of people is more devoid of love than right-wing Christians. Every sermon, political speech or talk show appearance is focused on the promotion of hate, not love. They pick a perceived enemy, whether it be the gays, the Muslims, immigrants, the poor, liberals, whoever, and then give their followers a bunch of made up reasons to hate that group. Sure they claim that they ‘love’ everyone. But let’s look at the Biblical definition of love. According to 1 Corinthians 13: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” There’s no love in anything that republicans say or do. There is a lot of stuff that is the exact opposite of love though, like unkindness, envy, boasting, false pride, lots and lots of dishonoring others, self-seeking, record-keeping, and baseless anger. There’s also no truth. They revel in conspiracy theories, like Obama death panels and invading Texas, to give a couple of examples in the endless list. Holding Republican ‘love’ up under microscope, what we we can see is that it has all the same qualities as hate. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck…"
